Ground Rules for Reiki Tarot Card Readings

  1. First you must determine your Life Path Number (which you can do using our Life Path Number Calculator), as this card will come to represent you in your readings when the card appears. It is also important to the Numerology aspect of the Reiki Tarot – adding up the values of the Numerology and Reiki Chakra cards can help with divination. If you know the life path numbers of significant people in your life, these can have extra meaning when they appear and help you with divination as well.
  2. Prepare your original Reiki Tarot deck with your own personal energy and intent through sincere heartfelt prayer. You can place the Quartz and Amethyst crystals included with your deck on top of the deck. Shuffle the cards thoroughly and handle the cards to get familiar with their feel and set your intention.
  3. Begin your reading with a clear Quartz crystal and hold this in your dominant hand. Crystals with a prayer or simple meditation beforehand will ground and direct your intention. The crystal will absorb and clear your energy, so you can focus on your highest good for the reading. When you get more familiar with the Reiki Tarot, other chakra crystals can be used as well and placed in your non-dominate hand, depending on your intention for the reading. Take a few deep breaths and ask for guidance. Try to let go of your mind regarding analytical and judgmental type of thoughts so that you can develop and receive intuitive messages.
  4. Once your deck is imprinted with your personal energy, you can charge it to add a formal intention. An intention is your personal goal or purpose for using the Reiki Tarot deck. For you, this could mean setting an intention that the deck will help with your spiritual growth, daily meditation or healing studies. For others it could be the intention to be a clear and clean channel for helping others.
In this deck, it does not matter if any cards are picked upside down.

Determine Your Life Path Number

You can use our Life Path Number Calculator to determine your Life Path number.  You can use our Soul Urge / Heart’s Desire Number Calculator to determine your Soul Urge / Heart’s Desire number. Find your card in the Major Arcana cards 1-9, that card will represent you. As you work with the cards, different cards can come to represent others. If you know a life path number for someone significant to you and that card appears in a spread, this can help you with divination for the reading. For instance, the day before my husband passed away unexpectedly, we both picked the Synchronicity Gold Oracle Numerology card 9 in the Major Arcana, so, for me, that card represents him whenever it appears in my reading.

What is the goal of Reiki Tarot Solitaire?

The ultimate objective of the Reiki Tarot Solitaire spread is to receive insight into your initial question or intention by certain cards that are left on the tableau at the end of play.

How to perform the Reiki Tarot Solitaire for your reading

To perform the Reiki Tarot Solitaire, you need space and a table, any will do but ensure that you have enough space. Also, since the Reiki Tarot Solitaire is a single-player game, you don’t need anyone else to play. Once you break your deck of cards and shuffle, you’re ready to begin.

Tableau with Source Deck

Foundation 1 and 2

Six rows across are dealt. A Root Chakra card begins a sequence. There are 6 Root Chakra cards, so every sequence begins with a Root Chakra card. Following the Root Chakra, the order is: Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Violet Crown Chakras. If no Root Chakra cards turn up, the Source Deck is put into play. Each Chakra contains 6 cards for a total of 42 cards.

In the example above, there are 2 plays upon the initial cards dealt. If any Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown cards appear, they are placed in Foundation 1 position in sequence from left to right as they are picked. In the example shown, the card in the third row is the Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown card Temptation. This card is placed on the first foundation above the row of six. Sei He Ki (Sacred Power and Numerology card number 4) is in the fifth row and is placed on top of the Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown card on Foundation 1. Whenever 1-5 Reiki Numerology Sacred Power Symbol cards are picked, each is to be placed on top of a Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown card in the order it is picked.

If no Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown cards have been picked yet, place the Reiki Sacred Power symbol cards 1-5 on Foundation 2. When a Reiki Tarot card appears, place the Reiki Sacred Power Symbol card picked 1st on top of the Tarot card, in the order it was picked.

If there are no more Tarot cards in play yet, place the Reiki Power Symbol card on Foundation 2, and move to Foundation 1 once a Tarot card appears. If a Gold Oracle card appears, and there is a Foundation 1 Tarot card with a Reiki Symbol Card on top, but no other Tarot cards, and a Reiki Symbol card is on Foundation 2, create a 3rd Foundation and place the Gold Oracle card on it. The Gold Oracle cards are important for divination at the end of play.

Two Root Chakra cards were drawn initially on the tableau in row positions 1 and 6. The remaining pile of cards on the tableau are called the Source deck and are put into play when no other moves can be made. These are dealt in a sequence of 3, with only the third card allowed to be put into play. Cards under the third card that appear can be put into play now if there is a play to be made.

Reiki Tarot Solitaire ascending order begins with Red Root Chakra cards

Summary:

  • The initial Tableau is set up by creating 6 rows.
  • From the left, place the first card face up and deal one card face down creating 5 new rows.
  • Move to the second pile, putting a card in the second pile face up and dealing a facedown card to the remaining 4 piles.
  • Move to the third pile and put a card face up, dealing a facedown card to the other 3 piles. Repeat with each pile until the sixth pile has 5 cards facing down and one card facing up.
  • Pile one should have one face up card, pile 2 should have one facing down and one facing up, pile 3 should have two cards face down and 1 card face up, 4 will have 3 cards face down and 1 face up and so on.

The pictures above show the next 2 plays and the source deck.

Reiki Tarot Solitaire rows begin with a Root Chakra card (there are 6 cards of each chakra). If a Reiki Tarot Root Chakra card doesn’t appear, the source deck is put into play right away – begin to deal 3 cards at a time. Only the top cards and any cards beneath can be played if a play(s) can be made. Then go again with 3 cards and continue until you’ve cycled through the source deck. Then begin again, until there are no more plays left.

Order placement of Reiki Tarot Chakra Cards:

  1. Red – Root Chakra with Cho Ku Rei
  2. Orange – Sacral Chakra with Sei Hei Ki
  3. Yellow – Solar Plexus Chakra with Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen
  4. Green – Heart Chakra with Sei Hei Ki
  5. Blue – Throat Chakra with Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen
  6. Indigo – Third Eye Chakra with Cho Ku Rei
  7. Violet Crown Chakra with Raku

This example shows a completed chakra row with 7 chakras cards in ascending order, the First Foundation cards and the Second Foundation cards. When a chakra pile is completed, the first Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown card with the Reiki Sacred Power Symbol card is placed on top of the completed chakra pile and placed to the left. These are completed piles and are used for divination purposes at the end of the Reiki Tarot Solitaire reading.

End of Play

The next shuffle(s) produced these results and there are no more plays. The Gold Oracle/Numerology cards 6-9 that comprised Foundation 3 are placed on top of the Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown cards that are left over, in sequential order.

Divination:

How are we to determinate divination from this example of the Reiki Tarot Solitaire reading?

There are 3 completed chakra piles to the left on the tableau in order of which they were completed. If your life path number is 4, 5 or 2, you could take the completed pile (on the left), that represents your life path number and set aside these cards for divination. There is no one right way, that is why it is important
to develop your intuition so that you can divine your reading.

My life path is number 6, so I would set aside and interpret the cards in this manner:

Looking to Foundation 1, the Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown card “Secrecy” has no numerology card on top. Since end of play is over, the top card left on the Source Deck is the indigo Third Eye Chakra card “Beauty” so this card would be placed on top of the Secrecy card. The Gold Oracle card number 6 “Heal” and the card underneath – in this case “Denial” becomes the way to divine the intention of the reading (for me), and the tools necessary for contemplation. Contemplation refers to a deep, reflective state of mind focused on inner understanding or connection with a higher power, often achieved through meditation or prayer, while divination is the practice of attempting to gain insight into the future or unknown by using specific tools or methods such as the Reiki Tarot cards, relying on interpretation of signs and symbols to provide answers.

Indigo Third Eye Chakra card “Beauty” represents a way to proceed with healing using intuition and the Reiki symbol Cho Ku Rei as the way to proceed.

Divination is a very personal matter, and a productive way to engage in self-reflection.

According to your question or intention, the cards will reveal their meaning(s). You will get more intuitive each time you perform the Reiki Tarot Solitaire. Every time you do a Reiki Tarot Solitaire reading, the cards will come up vastly different. With practice, you will be able to use the Chakra/Oracle meditations with the Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown cards. These messages are very personal and will help you gain insight into your original intention.

Intuition is developed over time, using the Reiki Tarot cards and the ancient healing arts of Chakra, Numerology, Reiki and Tarot. Personal development, learning to trust and access your intuition for new insights into yourself and to awaken things hidden in your subconscious so that you can go deep into what you are inquiring about and apply the fitting ancient healing art(s) for your benefit.

Rare Reiki Tarot Solitaire Card Spread

This is an unusual example of a Reiki Tarot Solitaire card reading at end of play. There are 3 Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown Cards left open at the end of play. I used Selenite instead of the Amethyst and Quartz crystal before I began the reading, as Selenite is a highly spiritual stone, and it was a difficult situation I wanted insight on. Different crystals can be used if you have a question and need an insight in a more specific way. For instance, if you have a physical problem, you would like insight into, you could use a Quartz crystal with the appropriate chakra crystal instead of the Amethyst or in addition to other stones.

It took me several days to interpret this spread for myself. My life path number is 6, a Gold Oracle card. I looked at the card beneath it and it was Secrecy. The first completed chakra pile was Sei He Ki, the 2nd Dai Ko Myo, and the third Cho Ku Rei. In this case, I placed Sei He Ki on top of the Reiki Tarot Card Ignorance, the
Dai Ko Myo Card on top of Challenges, and the Cho Ku Rei on top of the Reiki Tarot Treachery card. The last card in the source pile is the Throat Chakra ‘Share’. Throat chakra is often associated with the concept of “illumination” through its connection to clear communication and expressing one’s truth, allowing for a deeper understanding and sharing of inner thoughts and ideas, which can be seen as a form of personal enlightenment; therefore, it plays a significant role in the path towards illumination.

Shuffling the Reiki Tarot Cards:

Starting in the bottom right corner, go in a clockwise direction to create the next 3 piles. You will end up with 4 piles of cards, 15 cards in each pile. Put into one deck and shuffle again if desired.

It is important to shuffle the cards this way after every Reiki Tarot Solitaire reading, because you significantly reduce the chance of accidentally selecting the same cards multiple times in a sequence, ensuring a more diverse and evocative reading.
