Your Soul Urge number – also called your Heart’s Desire or Soul Desire – indicates what motivates you down deep into your core. This is the number that reveals to you what drives you from a soul-level. This is the inner you. It shows your true motivation, your inner cravings and urges, likes and dislikes. It reveals the general intention behind many of your actions, and dramatically influences the choices you make in life.
Each letter in your name corresponds to a single digit number, illustrated on the chart below.
Your Soul Urge number is derived from the vowels (A, E, I, O, U, and sometimes Y) in your full birth name.
Y is not counted if it serves as a consonant. For example, if a syllable begins with a “y” (like the “yo” syllable in “Yoda” or “Toyota”), then the “y” is serving as a consonant. Or if the “y” is following after another vowel (as in “Hay” or “ley” in “Hayley”), then the “y” is serving as a consonant (as in names like Hayley, Yoda, or Toyota). Y is counted if it serves as a vowel — which mainly occurs when it is the only source of the vowel sound on the syllable (as in the “lyn” in Carolyn, the “Bry” in Bryan, or the “y” in Mary). If any of your names has a “Y” in it, we need you to tell us whether it is serving as a vowel or a consonant, using the guidelines we have just sketched.
