The Reiki Tarot Soul cards employ Soul Psychology exploring meaning, purpose, and inner truth. Feelings of anxiety, depression, feeling worthless, etc. can be interpreted for each individual as a message from the soul, using the ancient tools of Chakra, Numerology, Reiki and Tarot to help understand the souls desire and focusing on personal growth through experiencing life’s challenges. Working with archetypes to assist one’s authentic self, moving beyond the ego to a more integrated, purposeful life. (Reiki symbols are generally considered archetypal in nature within spiritual, energetic, and sometimes analytical psychological contexts. They act as “keys” or “energetic pathways”.)
Core Concepts & Examples
1. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy located along the center of the body from the root of the spine to the crown of the head, allowing life force to flow through the body. Chakras are thought to be connected to our organs, nerves, emotions and thoughts. The Chakra system originated in India between 1500-500 BC. In Western Medicine, Chakras are though to line up with the Peripheral Nervous System.
2. Numerology is a belief in the mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. The Reiki Tarot uses the Pythagorean method of Numerology whereby the interpretation of numbers leads to self-discovery and predictions. Divination involves discerning the underlying significance of a situation through intuition or the ability to understand something immediately, without need for conscious reasoning. Reiki Tarot is a quest for truth, and a tool for discovering personal truths.
3. Reiki is based on the belief that a universal life force energy flows through our bodies, and is the animating principal of life. There are 5 Reiki Sacred Power Symbol cards in the Major Arcana. Each symbol is used for a specific type of healing depending on the nature of the problem, and the idea that the human body can heal itself. Reiki energy symbols are considered sacred, and their specific type of energy is channeled through the hands. Individuals can practice Reiki on themselves for self-healing regardless of their age, health or background and Reiki is open to anyone who wants to learn about healing and energy work.
4. Tarot is a cartomancy practice that originated in Europe in the 14th century for the purpose of divination. The Reiki Tarot deck includes 9 Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown cards representing the subconscious mind or shadow self. Each time a Reiki Tarot Shadow Crown card appears, another card is picked for insight into the reading. There are 3 types of Eclipses: Lunar, Solar and Chakra Eclipses. See pages 26-27 for more information on the Reiki Tarot Eclipses.
How Soul Psychology Differs From Traditional Therapy
- Focus: Shifts from behavior/thoughts (traditional therapy) to meaning/purpose/inner truth (soul psychology).
- Healing: Views healing as a non-linear journey of sitting with discomfort and integrating aspects of the self, not just moving past problems.
- Tools: Employs the ancient arts of Chakra, Numerology, Reiki and Tarot to connect with the soul’s language, which can be symbolic or intuitive.
